The First time I Fell in Love with English

I do remember the first time I fell in love with English. It is when I was in Primary School, grade 4.

Miss Ayu, she was my English teacher at that time. She likes to introduce us to new English songs, new English stories, and of course, English lesson.

It was fun to learn English. I can even remember the first time I answer correctly to a question that no one in my class could answer.

The word "poison". It was only translation challenge and I did that one correctly. I was feeling that the word "poison" could grow my confidence that I feel like I really want to learn English more and more! That simple moment was superb.

Then, I was chosen to be one of the delegations from grade 4 to join English competition at school. I was so excited that Miss Ayu trusted me to join the competition, when normally only those who get high ranks in my class could probably join. I was not the one who gets high rank, so it is an honour for me to be able to compete side to side with the genius!

I didn't wish to win, to be honest, since there was Bagas, a genius boy from grade 4 who will probably win. I just do what I can do, and I was really happy.

So, when it came the time to announce the winner, I didn't expect anything. But it turned out to be so unpredictable. Bagas was in the second place, and I was the first winner. Surprisingly!

That was my first trophy ever in my life, and I was really happy and proud of myself.

That was the first time I fell in love with English.
